Aggregates chiefs have called on the Department for Transport to delay what they call an "idiotic" EU directive before lives are lost. British Aggregates Association (BAA) warned the already acute shortage of lorry drivers would become worse if the government failed to act. The Large Goods Vehicle Driver Certificate of Competence (DCPC) becomes a legal requirement in the UK on 10 September 2014.
