This conference is an annual event alternately organised by QPA and RTPI. This year the organisers were QPA and the conference took place on 22 May at the Dunstall Conference Centre Wol-verhampton. The theme for the day was "Aggregates Supply to 2020 and beyond - How are we going to manage?" Delegates included representatives from local planning authorities, the quarrying industry, planning consultants, NGOs and environmental bodies. This year's event saw an increase in delegate numbers to more than 300; a testament perhaps to the current relevance of the theme.

"A Karnel Regression of Phillips' Data" Abstract: Economists have assumed that the Phillips curve, which shows a positive (negative) relation between inflation and the output ratio (unemployment rate), may be mapped off the aggregate demand -aggregate supply apparatus. The paper shows that the Phillips curve requires that unlikely restrictions be put on the form of the aggregate supply and aggregate demand curves. In this case, it is inappropriate to treat data on inflation and capacity utilization as the basis for estimating an underlying formal model.
