Formed last year by spinning off from the Royal Philips Passive Components Group, BC Components instantly became one of the largest independent European suppliers of passive components to the global electronics industry. The new company now positions itself as a solution provider for demanding consumer, telecommunications, automotive, EDP and industrial applications. Local service support is given by a global network of production facilities and sales organisations, providing employment for more than 4,000 people. Within this global network, BC Components NV/SA in Brussels, Belgium, concentrates on the production and marketing of varistors, thermistors and sensors for a variety of applications in consumer and industrial electronics. "We want to become market leaders in selected market applications and technology areas," says Peter Belien, General Manager of this Belgian plant.
