摘要

The technogenic contamination of soils with heavy metals (HMs) in the zone affected by nonferrous metallurgy enterprises and in large industrial cities is usually of polymetallic character. The simultaneous influx of several heavy metals to the soil can significantly affect the behavior of each of these metals, primarily their fixation strength and mobility. Overlapping of two different processes--the interaction of metal cations with soil reactive sites and the mutual competitive effect of their ions--takes place in this case. This results in redistribution of ions among reactive sites in accordance with their affinity to different heavy metals.
