摘要

Trenimon or triaziquone, with the chemical name 2,3,5-tris(1-aziridinyi)-1,4-benzoquinone (Fig. 1, compound 1), is a polyfunctipnal compound which combines the properties of a quinone, an alpha,beta-unsaturated ketone, an enamine and an aziridine (ethyleneimine). The chemical as well as, the biological properties of this compound are closely related to its geometrical and electronic structure, Berizoquinone derivatives occur abundantly in nature; and play a vital role in normal biochemical processesand in the action of cytotoxins. Aziridinyl-1,4-benzoquinones were among the first synthetic anticancer drugs with the potential to form highly reactive species capable of forming cross-links in DNA.
