摘要

The orbit largely resembles a pyramid with the apex located deep facing the orbital foramen and the base situated at the surface of the eye. Although the bony walls effectively obstruct any attempts to enter a needle, the deep orbit may be accessed at the base of the pyramid. However, the globe blocks most of this entrance leaving only the space along the orbital rim accessible for fine needle aspiration (FNA). This makes FNA more challenging, and deep lesions will require precise positioning of the needle in terms of angle and depth.
