摘要

In a recent European Urology publication, Rider et al. reported data from an impressive and well designed epidemiologic study, evaluating the outcomes of more than 76,000 patients with prostate cancer who received noncurative treatment in Sweden from 1991-2009. About 78% of the 117,000 men included in the National Prostate Cancer Register of Sweden were evaluated in the study and most of them reported no comorbidity, although this proportion was lesser in patients with advanced disease (72.9% for metastatic disease versus 85.9% for low-risk cancers).
