This week, Turkish producers of longs have purchased scrap at pricesby $10-20/t higher than a week ago and rushed to reflect the rise in theirexport prices for finished products, although demand from foreign buyershas weakened by the end of the year. Nevertheless, in spite of continuousgrowth of prices for raw materials, their offers are expected to be steadynext week, as mostly buyers from the Middle East, booking only smalllots recently, will remain in the market, while US consumers will go awayfor Christmas and New Year holidays.
