In Upper Egypt, Coca-Cola has completed a greenfield project for a soft-drinks factory in the hot desert sand. The newly constructed facility in Assiut has been dimensioned for a total of six bottling lines, and has been adopted as a standard for future construction projects by BIG (Bottling Investments Group). Three Krones lines are already up and running, with a fourth one currently being installed. For the first time in Egypt, a blow-moulder/filler monobloc has been chosen for PET bottling.
