摘要

This paper presents the application of the naphthalene sublimation technique in the experimentla study of the influence of internal helical turbulence promoters on the heat transfer enhancement in a circular pipe submitted to a forced convection turbulent flow of air. The performance of the turbulence promoters was investigated for two different aspect ratios and the Reynolds number was varied between 10000 and 60000. In addition, pressure drop measurements were made for each run. The results show that the naphthalene sublimation technique was very reliable for the studied problem with clear informations about the performance of the turbulence promoters investigated.
