In 2004, once again, Hong Kong International Airport wins the Airport of the Year title, the repeated winner for fourth consecutive year; together with the new airport opened in Guangzhou on August 2004, one can expect a rapid increase of air carriage logistics activities in the near future. The Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules Relating to International Transportation by Air (hereafter the "Warsaw Convention") one of the most important international treaties in air aviation. The Warsaw Convention applies to Hong Kong, and China also joined the Warsaw Convention in June of 1958. To understand how this international treaty would work for or against an air carrier, let us consider the following story.
