Efficacy of seed pelleting materials on germination and growth performance of Cenchrus ciliaris Linn. seed was studied in sandy alluvial soil of C.R. Farm, Jodhpur. Maximum seed germination of pellets was recorded in pellet treatment of seed + tank silt (42.58 percent). Plant stand in first year was affected in all pelleted treatments due to less rains in July 97. Minimum plant stand was observed in treatments having DAP as an ingredient in pellets. seed pelleting treatments having tank silt. farmyard manure and sand ingredients were poor in growth performance during first year, but showed superior performance in the second year. Maximum dry forage yield (4075 kg/ha) was recorded in seed + tank silt + sand pellets and highest Seed yield was found in seed + tank silt + sand + FYM (126.25 kg/ha).
