I enjoyed the thought-provoking article by Dr Brant-Zawadzki in the June 2012 issue of Radiology (1) regarding the heroic, and expensive, month-long hospital saga of a comatose decerebrate woman with a ruptured cerebral aneurysm who, against all expectations, was successfully treated, due in large part to the zeal of an interventional neuroradiologist. One might question if this patient qualifies as an example of the Lazarus syndrome given that she was "successfully" treated with coil occlusion of the aneurysm.
