The association of spot welding and adhesivebonding, named weldbonding, is a steel joining technique whichincreasingly interests car manufacturers. Nevertheless,weldbonding is not at present used extensively by them due to alack of data related to the performance of this technique. Studiescarried out by Usinor have succeeded in demonstrating thatweldbonding is a very well adapted joining technique todecrease the weight of steel structures.
