摘要

The discrete structure of the grinding wheel's cutting surface shapes the kinematics and dynamics of machining and the surface quality of the ground parts. Accordingly, the structure must be selected after analysis in terms of the machining characteristics. Analysis of grinding wheels shows that their cutting surface may be characterized by projections and depressions parallel or inclined to the tool's axis of rotation (first structure); by large pores randomly distributed over the tool volume (second structure); or by a large number of holes in rows parallel to the tool's axis of rotation (third structure).
