摘要

Occupational asthma represents 25% of cases of occupational lung disease and 5-10% of cases of asthma in adults.A 49-year-old woman developed rhino-conjunctivitis and bronchial asthma related with the production of goat cheese, in a cheese factory. She was in charge of the cheese production process three days a week, and she had episodes of coughing, sneezing, rhinorrea, watery eyes, wheezing and dyspnoea, for 2 years. Symptoms decreased during the cheeses packing process and disappeared during holidays and weekends, suggesting an occupational exposure. She tolerated eating goat cheese. The patient had a normal respiratory function test (FEVj) (92%). FEV1 decreased during working days, but there was not significant fluctuation on holidays. Methacholine test was positive.
