The grades of steel covered in 2-3-2/3, 2-3-2/5 and 2-3-2/7 are rolled plates intended for use in machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels. All tests are to be conducted in the presence of the Surveyor at the place of manufacture prior to shipping, unless the plant is approved under ABS's Quality Assurance Program for Rolled Products. The material surfaces will be examined by the Surveyor when specially requested by the purchaser. Plates are to be free from defects and have a workmanlike finish, subject to the conditions given under 2-3-2/1.17.
