Based on the fundamentals of biogeochemistry,size series of different types of marine bioinert systems are compared on the scale of the biohydrosphere-systems with solid bioinert matter as a substrate(underwater stones,boulders,and other bodies populated by algae),those using water as a substrate(seas,oceans,and lakes with their populations),and some others.In the series,bioinert objects are compared with respect to the ratio between the geometric volume V of the bioinert part(solid matter or water)and the mass W of the live matter:W =f(V).In the size series,we also considered the relations between the individual geometric volume of the solid organs(skeletons,shells)of fishes and mollusks and the mass of the corresponding water-containing soft tissues(population of solid organs by soft tissues).The behavior of different types of bioinert systems with respect to their population by live matter and selected consequences of it are discussed.
