摘要

A model for the changes in the oxygen isotopic composition of the waters of the World Ocoean from the Eocene to the Pliocene is suggested. The previously elaborated techniques of the coupled use of the oxygen isotopic and foraminiferal techniques as applied to the pre-Quaternary time is refined and enhanced. The testing performed showed a fine reliability of the results obtained and the possibility of application of this method in paleoceanology. However, some discrepancies were observed probably caued both by the peculiar featuares of the distribution of the temperature field in the past and by certain technical reasons.
