Giving up his role of chairman of Satara has created a big hole in Andrew Fenton's. He and his family have been involved with the co-operative kiwifruit and avocado postharvest company since it began in the early 1970s. He has been chairman for 17 years and when he steps down in April will have reached 25 years as a director. However, he has plenty to do as president of Horticulture New Zealand, a member of the board of MG Marketing and a board member of the Australian company LaManna Group Bananas.Late last month, fellow Te Puke kiwifruit grower Hendrik Pieters was elected by the board as chairman.
