It's voluntary and its raison d'etre is to promote the effective export marketing of horticultural produce.It puts rules around things so everyone knows what they have to do to protect the reputations of their product group and of New Zealand exports.But not enough exporters are part of this club, and they are being given an invitation to at least think about it. It's the Horticulture Export Authority (HEA) and the Primary Industries Ministry is seeking public views on possible changes to the HEA Act. It's not often that the piece of legislation comes up for review (previous significant amendments were made in 1992 and 2002-3), and now's a good time to get involved, says HEA chief executive Simon Hegarty.
