Continued growth in the South Islands food industry has led AsureQuality to undertake a $2 million expansion of its food testing laboratory in Christchurch. The expansion will increase laboratory space for food analysis from 100sqm to 400sqm at its Sir William Pickering Drive site, near Christchurch Airport, making it one of AsureQuality's largest laboratories in New Zealand. Already underway, the expansion is expected to be completed by March. AsureQuality's chief executive Michael Thomas said thatwith continued growth in the food industry, particularly the dairy sector in the South Island, the time was right to invest in an expansion of the company's South Island capability.
