摘要

The apical dominance between the dominant spikelets and subordinate spikelets within a panicle was demonstrated in hybrid rice. The dominant spikelets inhibited development of the subordinate spikelets. The inhibition was released only after the dominant grains nearly completed their development and then the subordinate grains started getting filled up. The endogenous IAA played an important role in this phenomenon. The regulatory effects of endogenous IAA on the apical dominance are also discussed.
