The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is in the final stages of issuing a revision of its EMC safety requirements for medical devices. These are given in IEC 60601-1-2 a supplementary part to the general requirements for the safety and essential performance of medical electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) given in IEC 60601-1 Ed.3.0 (2005-12).
