Thirty-two different genotypes of Tagetes species [Tagetes patula (12) and Tagetes erecta (20)] were collected from Kumaon and Garhwal Hills and evaluated at National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources Regional Station, Bhowali, Nainital to assess themean performance of the germplasm to identify and exploit the superior germplasm of Tagetes for further improvement. Study revealed that NIC-14847, NIC-2739, NIC-14848, NIC-14865, NIC-14864 and NIC- 14841 were considered as best genotypes which can be used as parent in hybridization programme for Tagetes improvement.
