摘要

Abwood Marine's requirement for a deep-penetration,flooded tunnel inspection system with centimetre-positioning accuracy was the trigger for the development of the F2 fibre optic variant of Seaeye's Falcon remotely operated vehicle(ROV).Abwood Marine's requirement also initiated the fitting of this vehicle with a profiling sonar and MiniSpool inertial navigation system(INS),developed by CDL.The authors believe that this may be the first time that an ROV has been fitted with inertial navigation for this type of application.
