It is no secret that port security spending is uncoordinated and significantly under-funded.Even though ports support five million jobs and handle us2 trillion worth of cargo and more than eight million cruise ship passengers annually,spending to keep our maritime system safe and efficiently managed is only a fraction of what is spent on airports and other forms of mass transit.
