There are multiple factors that are contributing to the U.S.'s mounting support for the research, development, and deployment of renewable energy alternatives. Major factors include the need to: Meet the U.S.'s rising demand for energy by secure processes. Create new cleantech jobs and gain market share of new and emerging technologies. Protect the health of humans and the environment by pollution reduction and climate change mitigation. America requires a constant and secure flow of energy to fuel its economy and maintain a safe society for its citizens. This will require the procurement of raw materials for the production of electricity and fuel and the delivery of that energy to end users in an affordable and sustainable way.
