The New Year dawns with a lot of activities within the Indian Paint industry. The Year commences with the "India Coatings Show" at Bombay being held in conjunction with the bi-annual conference of the Indian Paints Association (IPA). Immediately following this three-day affair is a short one-day seminar on UV Cured Coatings for Wood, Plastics, Metals, etc. organized by UCB. A new technology for Coatings & Inks is to be introduced to the country. Information reaching this column states a few other seminars and conferences are being organized by various suppliers, technologists, organizations, etc. over the next couple of months. Discussions are taking place for short seminars and conferences targeted to end users of paints & coatings. Automotive OEM & Refinish (After Market) Coatings are one such conference in the planning stages. Architectural Coatings and Coatings for Civil Engineering Applications are the other subjects that come to mind for seminars and conferences in the planning stages. Suffice it to state that there are a lot of happenings taking place within the Indian Paint Industry and perhaps a lot more are to take place in the immediate future.
