After a year of record growth and poor profitability in 2004,European papermakers were looking forward to a better 2005.In the first half,demand was good but profits were undermined by:the rising cost of oil-based raw materials;soaring energy costs;the strong Euro;the labour dispute which closed Finnish mills in May and June.
