The us3.5bn Dolphin gas pipeline project between Qatar and the UAE has reached some important milestones.James Gavin reports on the progress of one of the Middle East's grand projects.SEVEN YEARS on from its inception,the Middle East's most ambitious cross-border energy project has reached its most significant milestone yet.On 29 May,the governments of Qatar and the UAE laid the foundation stone for Dolphin Energy's gas-processing plant in Qatar,which will ultimately process up to 3.2bn cubic feet a day (cf/d) of gas from Qatar's North Field.From 2006,the gas will flow over 370 km through a dedicated export pipeline to Abu Dhabi,for distribution to customers throughout the UAE.
