CONTINUING political upheaval and violence in the country's oil and gas sector is casting doubt on the government's ambitious target to double oil production to 4m barrels a day (b/d) by 2010. On 11 July, two employees of construction firm Julius Berger were kidnapped in Port Harcourt. A company spokesman refused to say whether the incident would force the firm to cease operations in the country.
