As the June 1 start date for pre-registration of chemicals under the new European chemicals regime REACH approaches,experts and officials from China and Taiwan spoke with Pesticide&Toxic Chemical News about the potential impacts on the Asian chemical industry."I think the impact will be very strong.We estimate that the trade of chemicals between China and the European Union will drop 10%[or 2.9 billion],and the total value of China's chemical industry will decrease 0.4%,"said Ding Yusheng,head of the Fair Trade Bureau in the Department of Foreign Trade&Economic Cooperation,in China's Jiangsu Province.
