Democrats on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee last week blasted EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson over several recent agency actions,including the changes to the Toxics Release Inventory (TPJ)program,EPA's ongoing library modernization plan and its decision to stop monitoring public water supplies for perchlorate.The pattern of EPA's actions is "striking,"committee chair Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.)said at the Feb.6 EPA oversight hearing."The public interest is sacrificed and environmental protection compromised."
