EPA issued a notice in the April 18 Federal Register (72 FR 19491),announcing the receipt of a request from Syngenta Crop Protection,Inc.,Greensboro,N.C.,to voluntarily cancel all product registrations and terminate all uses of all products containing the pesticide pyridate.Pyridate is a terrestrial herbicide classified as a pyrazole thiocarbonate chlorine.Therequest would terminate the last pyridate products registered for use in the U.S.The last remaining pyridate products were cancelled in October 2004 for failure to pay the required annual maintenance fees,but there were several local need registrations for weed control on mint.
