摘要

Condensation of malonamide with 2-(1 -phenylethylideneamino) benzenethiols (l-VII) resulted in the formation of solid products which were identified as 2-(1-phenylethylidene) malonamide and its derivatives (la-Vila) on the basis of elemental analysis, m.m.p. determination and spectral studies. The results are at a variance as compared to similar condensation of malonamide with N-benzylideneaniline. The compounds la-Vila were screened in vitro for their antifungal potential against Alternaria alternata, Fusarium oxysporum, Curvularia lunata and Myrothecium roridum. All the test compounds have shown promising activity against test fungi.
