EPA's pesticide and toxics chief Steve Owens has named Wendy Cieland-Hamnett as the new director of the Office of Potiution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT). In an announcement issued Feb. 24, Owens noted Cleland-Hamnett's work as OPPT acting director over the last year."I have had the pleasure of working closely with her to implement the administrator's priorities for the office, including enhancing our chemical management program, reforming the Toxic Substances Control Act, increasing transparency and promoting pollution prevention, among many other significant efforts." Owens said.
