EPA has issued its reregistration eligibility decisions for carbaryl and aldicarb concluding that both pesticides are safe for continued use, provided certain risk mitigation measures are adopted. Industry groups favor the carbaryl decision, but think some of the aldicarb restrictions may impede production of certain crops. Environmental groups, on the other hand, endorse the aldicarb restrictions, but think the carbaryl limitations are too lenient.
