The European chemicals industry is calling for extra time to meet new EU rules on the classification, labeling and packaging of chemical substances and mixtures - the CLP Regulation. Thomas Holtman, chair of the BusinessEurope REACH Implementation Network, told the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) Third Stakeholders' Day on Dec. 7 that "reasonable" transition periods are needed, at least until 2015, for the changeover.
