The USDA Agricultural Research Service last week reported that a common soybean field weed has promise as both a biodiesel resource and biobased fumigant. Researchers noted that pennycress seeds are 36-40% oil by weight and long-chain fatty acids derived from their oil are similar to other biodiesel resourcas.
