Studies were conducted in the field to evaluate the efficacy of emamectin 5 SG against Tomato fruit borer Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner). The field trials conducted on Tomato (Var: PKM1) against the fruit borer indicated that the new insecticide formulation at 10.0 g a.i.ha(_1) and 8.75 g a.i.ha~(_1) were more effective against Tomato fruit borer when compared to profenofos 50 EG (750 g a.i. ha(_1)) and lambda cyhalothrin 5 EC (30 g a.i.ha(_1)), but it was comparable with spinosad 2.5 SC (12.5 g a.i.ha(_1)) in reducing the larval population and fruit damage, which ultimately increased the yield.
