Beijing-Fujian Petrochemical, ExxonMobil and Saudi Aramco on Friday established Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Co. Ltd. as a new joint venture for a refining and petrochemical joint venture in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China (PCN, 5 Mar 07, p 1).The venture will triple capacity of an existing refinery in Guangzhou to 240,000 b/d and build a new 800,000-t/y ethyl-ene cracker. The project will also include the production of 800,000 t/y of polyethylene, 400,000 t/y of polypropylene and 700,000 t/y of paraxylene.
