Sao Paulo-Brazil's Petrobras,Braskem and the Ultra Group last week reached an agreement to purchase Ipiranga Group in a transaction valued at approximately US4-billion.The agreement calls for Petrobras and Braskem to acquire Ipiranga's petrochemical assets,with Petrobras taking 40% of the assets and Braskem the remainder.Ipiranga's refining assets will be divided equally between the three companies.
