Jakarta-Elevance Renewable Sciences has agreed to form a joint venture with Wilmar International to build a world-scale biorefinery for the production of chemicals and other products in Indonesia The biorefinery will have an initial capacity of 180,000 t/y and will be located within Wilmar's new integrated manufacturing complex, which is currently under construction in Surabaya, Indonesia. The facility will have the ability to expand to 360,000 t/y and is expected to come on stream next year.
