London-Ineos and alternative fuels developer Viridas have formed an exclusive partnership aimed at the sustainable development of jatropha as a non-food feedstock for the production of biodiesel and other alternative fuels, reported Datamonitor quoting Ineos. Viridas is acquiring 250,000 hectares of unused land in Brazil, which it will use to produce 500,000 t/y of sustainable jatropha oil under contract.
