Arzew-Algeria Oman Fertilizer Co. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) have signed an agreement with Topsoe for the supply of Topsoe process technology and catalysts for two ammonia units as part of a new ammonia and urea complex to be built in Algeria's Arzew industrial zone (PCN, 28 Apr 08, p 1). The complex, scheduled to begin production in mid-2012, will include two 2,000-t/d ammonia units, two 3,500-t/d urea production and granulation plants, and supporting facilities. A majority of the ammonia output will be converted to urea for producing granular urea.
