Jilin-China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) said its Jilin Petrochemical affiliate has started work on a 400,000-t/y acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plant, as well as a 10-million-t/y refinery expansion project. The ABS plant involves a 200,000-t/y line for the production of special-purpose materials, a 200,000-t/y line for general-purpose materials and a 320,000-t/y styrene facility, all of which are scheduled to come on stream in October 2011. At that time, CNPC noted, Jilin will have 580,000 t/y of ABS capacity and 460,000 t/y of styrene capacity.
