Paris-Arkema said it and high throughput experimentation company hte AG have concluded a research collaboration on catalysis for glycerol to acrolein and acrylic acid conversion. Initiated by Arkema, the research involved performance screening for a variety of new catalysts for conversion of glycerol, a biodiesel product derived from biomass, to acrolein and acrylic acid. The parallel testing technology of hte was used to accelerate this process of exploration and evaluation.
