Tokyo—Mitsui Chemicals Inc. has decided to discontinue production at its Ichihara, Japan, ethylene oxide (EO) and ethylene glycol (EG) plant in November of this year. The company, which also produces EO and EG at Osaka, noted that domestic market conditions for EG "are expected to become extremely dull" because of supplies coming from new plants in the Middle East and Asia.
