Brussels-The Euro- pean Commission(EC),following an extended detailed inves-tigation,has cleared Ineos' proposed acquisition of BP's ethyl-ene oxide(EO)and ethylene glycol(EG)business in Dorma-gen,Germany(PCN,29 May 06,p 3).While the EC's preliminary investigation raised"serious concerns as to the compatibility of the Ineos/BP Dormagen concentration with the single market,"the EC said its in-depth investigation concluded that the concentration"would not significantly impede competition in the European Economic Area(EEA)or a substantial part of it."
